Ohoho... First digital painting. XD!!

And it happens to be... Katara and Zuko!! {Yes, if you're following me, I'm an avid Zutara shipper, though this picture doesn't really show it. }

Avatar only ended a while ago, but it doesn't seem like it to me. Other people may say that it's just a children's show {which it isn't ^_~} or disregard it just because it's "not anime" and "not made in Japan," but to me, it meant so much more. Much more.

{Zutara-ish-ramble. You can skip if you want. }

I really won't go into detail here, but the last episode left so many questions unanswered. {I suppose that's how the creators would've liked it, but I do feel kinda betrayed. ToT} Overall though, the ending was beautiful and the fight scenes and bending mind-blowing.

Even though I am a Zutara shipper {and a hopeless one at that}, I acknowledge that my ship did not win {based on those two~ certain kisses at the end}, and congrats to all the Kataangers. ^_^

As for all the Zutarians, don't give up hope. I listened to a podcast a while ago about one Kataanger wondering if the Zutara fandom would fall after the show ended "if it wasn't canon."

And another Kataanger said to him, "The Zutara fandom is so big; I don't think it'll fall so suddenly like that. I can guarantee you that even if the show ends up Kataang, there will be hundreds of Zutara fanfiction about the future. There will be fanart of the pairing aged and meeting up again by chance, years after the avatar defeated the Fire Lord."

My point here is, he's right. Knowing what happened in the end didn't make me leave the fandom or make me dislike A:TLA; it did the opposite, it made me want to draw more or write more, maybe even make an AMV if I had the skills.

In the beginning, it didn't matter if our ship was canon or not; why should it be now?

About the actual deviation:
--I was looking for some Avatar pictures on the net and suddenly came to the conclusion that I wanted to draw something like the Zuko/Katara confrontation in the Spirit Oasis. And hey, drawing somewhat-bald!Zuko was a fun challenge. XD I'd like to draw him with a head full of hair someday, because head-full-of-hair!Zuko is amazingly hot.

For Katara, I had trouble finding a skin tone that would work with her... It was either too dark or too light and never what I wanted. Hopefully I'll get it right the next piece.

--Time Taken: I finished it in a span of three or four days. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with Painter.
